Dear competitor:

Thank you for your interest in the All Hallows Faire Costume Competition!
We are strive to improve our competition every year and we would like to share with you a few things about out judging criteria.
As you strut your stuff in front of the crowd and judging table, a few things we are looking for.
These are listed in order of importance.
Craft: particularly in the Intermediate and Master Categories. Show off the little details and accessories in your costume. Don't be afraid to talk up the personalized touches to your presentation. This is about the small things!
Construction: What kinds of techniques did you use to build your rig? Oftentimes, a judge will need to be brought into the loop to fully understand the work and dedication in a costume. Please share with us if you have hand-sewn, foam-sculpted, forged, or any other wonderful details we might miss on first glance.
Character: When you are presenting to the crowd, play up your character. Ultimately, this competition is supposed to entertain the patrons of this event. Staying in character as you answer judging questions and playing the audience can help. This can be important in the beginner category, where the crafting levels are all similar.
Remember, the judges only get a brief time with your creation, the more information we have, the better!
Cheers and see you at the faire!

Your All Hallows Judging Committee.
