DRAGONS & GARGOYLES VISIT SONORA
On October 24 & 25th, in Sonora California, watch ancient creatures come alive at the All Hallows Fantasy Faire. Dragons will be joined by walking trolls, gargoyles, minotaurs, elves, and warriors from the Dark Ages. The Mother Lode Fairgrounds will become a fantasy world full of strange sites and weird sounds that invite everyone to get lost in a world of imagination. Patrons of all ages are encouraged to wear costumes and take part in this time period adventure!
In all started with the Celtic people of Ireland that gave us the roots of today's modern Halloween. The All Hallows Fantasy Faire will re-create the Dark Ages and bring alive the old beliefs that were shared by the Celtic and Viking tribes of Europe. The faire will present a living history world full of costume performers, fantasy characters, and a village of interesting artisans and craftsman. Music and dance will also be a large part of this All-Hallows celebration, featuring five stages of non-stop entertainment by numerous high-energy groups.
Hard driving Celtic and European bands will provide listening and dancing pleasure. Featured bands include: Avalon Rising, Culann's Hounds, 1916 (Irish Rock Band), and the Black Irish Band. Also performing will be three large Belly-dancing troupes that will embrace the spirits of the living and dead. Other action entertainment will include the Dare Devil Chickens Troupe, fire-eaters, jugglers, and magicians & wizards. There will also be many entertainers just for children!
The festival will feature a large ancient village complete with streets, walkways, and one very scary cemetery. Throughout the village there will be many fantasy themed vendor booths selling Viking and Celtic wares. Keeping with the spirit of the October Season, a large Viking Long-Hall has been created with strange hooded monks selling ale and whiskies. The village will also have a great selection of European foods, along with more common fare that adults and kids love!
It all begins on Saturday October 24th, at 11am, and roars till 10:30pm. On Sunday October 25th, at 11am, the fun begins again and lasts till 5pm. Admission in advance for adults is just $12.00 / $14.00 gate. Children are only $5.00, and a special family pass will be offered on the web for only $30.00 (pass includes four tickets). For more information, ticket location, and performance times, go to www.AllHallowsFaire.com.
