Pumpkin Games

A return of the games once held in Ione, CA. We will have a pumpkin tossing contest with two classes, male and female. The contest is for distance, one toss per person the top three competitors get to do a toss off. Each pumpkin weighs around 5 pounds for men 3 pounds for the women. This contest has been a smashing success as the pumpkins do break at times, with pumpkin seeds sent flying.

King and Queen Pumpkin The second contest is pie eating, small 8 inch pies the first to finish wins. Pumpkin is not an easy pie to eat (trust us). The winner last year was our very own ogre who finished his pie in record time.

Last contest is a speed carving pumpkin contest with the winner being chosen by jury. The fun is seeing people try to finish a pumpkins in a fifteen minute time span. We have had some real artists in this contest and last years winner was a real surprise.

Points are awarded on 3 points for first, 2 for second, 1 for third. The winner at the end of the games is the person with the most points. Winners of the contests become the king and queen of the games with a crowning ceremony were the king and queen from last year give up their crowns and robes to the new Lord and Lady of the Gourd.
